Shipping and Staging Lead
Crystal D is seeking a highly organized and proactive Shipping Lead to support our Shipping and Staging teams. In this role, you will coordinate daily workflow, prioritize activities, and ensure that every order is produced and shipped accurately, on time, and with the highest quality—while balancing efficiency and cost. You will also play a key part in training, coaching, and supporting staff as they grow their skills.
This position directly oversees 5 shipping and staging team members and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, excels at problem-solving, and enjoys leading others.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Workflow Coordination & Order Management (65%)
Facilitate and distribute work orders to ensure smooth, even, and accurate workflow.
Coordinate with other departments to prioritize pre-production pulling and staging.
Identify complex or time-intensive orders and plan ahead to reduce delays.
Anticipate bottlenecks and implement daily action plans to eliminate them.
Monitor order flow, address issues quickly, and resolve abnormal workflow situations.
Assist in workstations as needed to meet daily production goals.
Stage work in logical sequences to maximize efficiency across all areas.
Prioritize tasks daily to ensure timely, quality output.
Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency.
2. Staff Coaching, Training & Support (15%)
Train and onboard new staff, reinforcing standards, procedures, and production best practices.
Serve as a mentor and coach to Shipping and Staging team members.
Provide daily feedback, hold staff accountable to production standards, and support skill development.
Promote “The WOW Effect” to uphold a consistent and positive brand experience.
Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve order issues.
Collaborate with Supply Chain and Production Manager to ensure needed supplies are stocked.
Incorporate LEAN principles and encourage continuous improvement at all workstations.
3. Process Evaluation & Analysis (15%)
Identify workflow “stops” and propose solutions to improve efficiency.
Reduce waste (“muda”) and increase value through continuous process evaluation.
Support production metrics, reporting, data collection, and time trials.
Track KANBAN supply usage and support cost-saving initiatives.
Assist the Production Manager with departmental objectives and step in during their absence.
4. Additional Responsibilities (5%)
Participate in catalog, marketing, and business development projects.
Engage in management training and ongoing professional development.
Assist with other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in the industry specific to the company (e.g., manufacturing).
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Knowledge of advanced accounting topics such as consolidations, foreign currency transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Typically a full-time position, with occasional extended hours during peak periods (e.g., month-end, year-end).
